‘Pioneers of the Universe’ came to me one evening in 1992, while I was sitting in the bath tub. It came in so strong, I had to get out of the tub to write it down. After writing it and reading it through I thought, it sounds like it could be a song and wondered what the melody might be. Low and behold, a gospelly, bluesey kind of tune started flowing through my mind.
I am a singer and it is not an easy song to sing, but all those I have sung it to have expressed joy at hearing it. Maybe one day I’ll make a recording and share it. Maybe…
We are the Pioneers of this Universe
We were standing in a field of light,
Gazing below us at an awesome sight.
The Creator had at last revealed Its might
And the Earth was born
Each of us had unfolded our dream
And helped create a world in which it seemed,
We could learn of Love in another theme
To fulfill our destiny.
As we immersed ourselves within this world,
Our hearts took flight and all our senses whirled.
Before too long, we had forgotten who we were.
We are the Pioneers of the Universe.
The Earth in all her beauty is our home away from home.
Being who we are, we must learn all that can be known.
Our lives hang in the balance and the Truth, it must be shown.
Love must find the way.
As we rediscover who we are, all our secrets are revealed.
Our tears have all been dried and our wounds have all been healed.
Our Spirit is now glowing with all we have been shown,
As we soar into the Heavens – Our new destiny unknown.
We are the Pioneers of the Universe.
